PBA Commissioner's Cup: Rain or Shine vs NLEX for Top Spot

The top two teams, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and NLEX Road Warriors, will clash for the leadership of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner's Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The two hot teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. in the main game of a double-header that opens with Magnolia Chicken Hotshots against Titan Ultra Giant Risers at 5:15 p.m.

Both the Road Warriors and the E-Painters are already assured of quarterfinal berths, but they continue their race for the top spot and the Top 4 position that carries a twice-to-beat advantage. Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao noted that the team's character has been forged this conference through close games and come-from-behind wins. “It’s good that the team goes through those challenges because it will test your character. So it’s a good sign for us,” he said.

Meanwhile, NLEX head coach Jong Uichico emphasized that his players need to prove that the franchise is among the contender teams in the league. “We don’t lose faith, we don’t lose hope even when the chances are very slim. We give ourselves a shot all the time,” Uichico said.
