The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are targeting a secure spot in the Top 4 as they face the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the main game of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner's Cup on Saturday evening, April 25, 2026, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Twice-to-Beat Advantage at Stake
A victory for the Elasto Painters would give them a twice-to-beat advantage in the upcoming quarterfinals, a benefit reserved for teams finishing in the Top 4. Rain or Shine has started the conference strongly, winning their first seven games. However, in their most recent outing, they suffered an unexpected loss to the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 83-87, on Tuesday, April 19.
"That was bound to happen," said Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao, as quoted on www.pba.ph. Guiao emphasized the importance of bouncing back quickly from their first conference loss to regain morale, especially with the quarterfinals approaching.
Magnolia's Position
The Hotshots currently sit in the middle of the standings with a 4-4 record. They still have a chance to enter the Top 4, but that possibility will dim significantly if they lose this game.
