UAAP Defers Action on Ateneo Players' Drowning

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has stated that it is not yet time to take action regarding the controversial deaths of two Ateneo Blue Eagles basketball players, Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

UAAP Executive Director Speaks Out

UAAP executive director Rebo Saguisag made the announcement as the investigation into the incident continues. The two players drowned during a Blue Eagles team-building activity in Aurora.

Saguisag explained that the UAAP cannot yet take any steps because the UAAP season has not yet started. Ateneo is one of the member schools of the UAAP.
