Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu Gym Reopens in New Location

After over a year of closure, the home of Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu is back, but in a different location in Cebu City. Moving from its usual spot on Sanciangko Street, opposite the University of Cebu (UC) Main campus, the new home of Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu has transferred to Felimon Compound on Sikatuna Street in Barangay Day-as.

Yaw-Yan Ardigma founder and CEO Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr. explained that the new space is temporary and smaller, but for him, the most important thing is that his Team Cebu City athletes and students now have a place to train.

“We are back in business,” Master Ekin enthusiastically declared when he officially announced the reopening of his gym during a press conference at Sunburst Fried Chicken in Baseline Center yesterday, Thursday, May 7, 2026.

“The old gym on Sanciangko, the building was undergoing renovation and it will take a long time to finish, so I looked for a place where our athletes can train, especially since they have upcoming matches,” Master Ekin explained.

He revealed that while the gym was closed, he trained his athletes at the Cebu City Sports Center grounds.

“At the sports center, the kids couldn’t train properly because there were no proper equipment. Even if our temporary gym is small, it has the right equipment,” Master Ekin said.

According to Master Ekin, they are also accepting students for their Summer Training Camp in arnis, boxing fitness, Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, and Yaw-Yan Ardigma Combat (self defense).

Master Ekin said that once everything is settled, he will move his gym to a bigger space.

Meanwhile, Master Ekin also stated that he plans to revive his former mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion called “Ground and Pound.”

“That is really my dream,” Master Ekin affirmed.
