Mark Vicelles returned to his winning ways after defeating Carlo Diaz VII by unanimous decision to capture the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) light-flyweight title last Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Act City in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan.
Dominant Performance
Vicelles dominated the fight and earned the nod of all three judges with lopsided scores of 98-91, 99-90 and 99-90. Previously ranked among the world's top contenders, Vicelles is expected to break into the world rankings once again following the victory.
Comeback Victory
The win allowed Vicelles to bounce back from his previous loss and improve to 21 wins, two losses and a draw with 11 knockouts. Diaz, on the other hand, dropped to 8-4-1 with one knockout.
Undercard Result
Meanwhile, journeyman Eduardo Mancito lost to 21-year-old Japanese prospect Fuga Uematsu by unanimous decision in the undercard. Uematsu won with scores of 59-55, 59-55 and 58-56. Mancito fell to 22-19-2 with 10 knockouts, while Uematsu improved to 8-2 with five knockouts.
