Savouge Aesthetics Secures Crucial Victory in Spikers' Turf

Savouge Aesthetics strengthened their position in the semifinal race of the Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference after delivering a commanding performance against PGJC-Navy. The match, held at Paco Arena on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, saw the Spin Doctors secure a straight-set victory with scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-23.

Key Players Deliver Stellar Performance

Mark Frederick Calado emerged as a crucial contributor for Savouge, finishing the match with an impressive all-around performance of 13 points, eight receptions, and seven digs. His consistent play throughout the match provided the foundation for the team's success.

Equally impactful was Reymark Betco, who matched Calado's scoring output with 13 points of his own. Betco delivered the final blow that sealed the victory for Savouge after one hour and 26 minutes of intense volleyball action.

Match-Deciding Moments

The final set provided dramatic tension as both teams battled point-for-point. The turning point came when Shawie Caritativo broke a 22-22 deadlock with a perfectly executed cross-court hit. The match reached its conclusion when an illegal block was called on Navy's Abdul Hafiz Bangcola, giving Savouge the match point they needed to close out the victory.

Additional offensive firepower came from Giles Torres and Angelo Reyes, who each contributed nine points, while Caritativo added eight points to the winning effort.

Coach's Strategic Adjustment Pays Off

Savouge head coach Sydney Calderon revealed that strategic changes made the difference in their performance. "We really adjusted our rotation," Calderon explained. "Based on the stats, we saw that we had a lot of errors, and we couldn't kill right away in some rotations. So that's what we're working out. I'm very happy with what I saw today."

Team Records and Looking Ahead

With this victory, Savouge Aesthetics improved their tournament record to 4-2, positioning them well in the semifinal hunt. The team now prepares for their next challenge against defending champion Cignal on Friday.

For PGJC-Navy, the struggle continues as they suffered their fifth consecutive defeat. Joeven Dela Vega led the Sealions with 13 points, while Greg Dolor added seven points in the losing effort.
