The highly anticipated 5th edition of the Cebu Seven Aside Football Festival, now officially rebranded as the Cebu Seven Aside Football-Rhyker's Cup, is scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17, 2026. This vibrant grassroots tournament will be hosted at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex in Cebu, promising three days of fast-paced action and community engagement.
Expanded Participation and New Categories
According to head organizer Jeren Labares, the event has already attracted significant interest from teams beyond Cebu. Confirmed participants include squads from Dumaguete and Leyte, adding a regional flair that is expected to heighten the competition's excitement. In a move to broaden inclusivity, organizers are introducing a new Mixed Open category this year. This addition aims to provide more players, regardless of gender, with opportunities to compete and showcase their skills on the field.
Tournament Format and Registration Details
The matches will adhere to a thrilling and rapid format designed to keep spectators on the edge of their seats. Most categories will feature 15-minute straight games, ensuring non-stop action, while the Under-7 division will play shorter 12-minute matches to accommodate younger athletes. Registration is currently open for all interested teams, with entry fees set at P3,300 for the Under-7 category and P3,500 for all other divisions, including the new Mixed Open.
