Globe-NCS Joint Venture Finalizes, Boosting Philippines as APAC Tech Hub
Globe-NCS JV Closes, Renames Yondu to NCS Philippines

A major partnership aimed at strengthening the Philippines' position in the regional technology landscape is now official. The joint venture between Globe Telecom and Singapore's NCS Pte. Ltd. has formally closed, significantly expanding information and communications technology (ICT) delivery capacity.

A New Entity Emerges: NCS Philippines

Under the finalized agreement, NCS holds a 51 percent stake and Globe holds 49 percent of the venture. The combined entity will operate under the name NCS Philippines, which was formerly known as Yondu Inc. This transaction concludes the initial pact signed by the two companies back in March 2025.

As part of the consolidation, Yondu has acquired NCSI Philippines from NCS's wholly-owned unit, NCSI Holdings. This makes NCSI Philippines a full subsidiary of the new joint venture, creating a unified and more powerful platform.

Scaling Up for Regional Demand

The immediate effect of the deal is a substantial increase in the venture's scale and technical expertise. By integrating NCS's regional footprint, partner ecosystem, and digital know-how, the new NCS Philippines is poised to meet the growing demand for advanced technology solutions.

This demand is particularly strong within the telecommunications sector. Furthermore, the enhanced platform will broaden access to cloud, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) services for clients both within the region and internationally.

Leadership Perspectives on the Strategic Move

Globe president and CEO Carl Raymond R. Cruz stated that the partnership amplifies the company's capability to deploy world-class ICT solutions and speeds up its expansion across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Echoing the strategic importance, NCS chief executive Ng Kuo Pin highlighted that the deal scales their Philippine workforce to over 1,200 professionals. This boost in delivery capacity is a cornerstone of NCS's internationalization strategy.

From a financial standpoint, Globe chief finance officer Carlo Puno noted that the venture improves capital efficiency and supports sustainable revenue growth. This provides the group with greater flexibility to invest in next-generation ICT offerings.

Rey Untal, country managing director of NCS Philippines, emphasized the opportunity for local talent. The expanded platform opens doors for Filipino professionals to work on large-scale, APAC-wide digital transformation projects.

The closure of this joint venture marks a significant step in positioning the Philippines as a larger and more competitive hub for digital innovation in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific market.
