Second SLEx, STAR Toll Hike Set for July 1

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has announced the implementation of the second tranche of toll rate increases for the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR), effective July 1, 2026.

Approved Adjustments from Consolidated Petitions

According to the TRB, the new toll adjustments were approved based on consolidated petitions filed in the years 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024. The first tranche of the toll hike was previously implemented in January 2026.

Details of the Toll Increases

For SLEx, which spans 36 kilometers from Muntinlupa City to Santo Tomas, Batangas, the new rates from Alabang to Calamba are as follows: Class 1 vehicles will pay P137; Class 2 vehicles, P274; and Class 3 vehicles, P411. For the segment from Calamba to Santo Tomas, Class 1 vehicles will be charged P37; Class 2, P74; and Class 3, P111.

On the STAR Tollway, which covers 42 kilometers from Santo Tomas to Batangas City, the rates from Santo Tomas to Lipa are: Class 1, P64; Class 2, P128; and Class 3, P192. From Lipa to Batangas City, Class 1 vehicles will pay P57; Class 2, P114; and Class 3, P171. For the full route from Santo Tomas to Batangas City, Class 1 vehicles will be charged P121; Class 2, P242; and Class 3, P363.

Impact on Commuters

The toll hike is expected to affect thousands of daily commuters using these major thoroughfares in Southern Luzon. The TRB stated that the adjustments are necessary to cover operational costs and maintenance of the expressways.
