Former American Chamber (AmCham) Cebu president John Domingo, now residing in the United States, has hinted at a possible return to Cebu that could revive past educational projects, including scholarship programs.
Domingo's Legacy in Cebu
During his tenure as AmCham Cebu president, John Domingo maintained active scholarship projects in partnership with leading Cebu universities such as the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), the University of San Carlos (USC), the University of the Philippines, the University of Cebu, Cebu Normal College, and Speechcom International.
Recent Reunion and Plans
Domingo recently had lunch with close friends and former colleagues Cherry Pie Callejero, Honey Loop, and a journalist at Casino Español. Alice Woolbright, a former colleague currently in the US, was unable to attend. The group discussed their scholarship projects and partnerships with academic institutions like USJ-R and USC.
According to the journalist, Domingo is now based in the US, but there is a possibility he will return to Cebu. If that happens, they intend to revive some of the projects they had in the past. Domingo also played major roles in many Broadway musicals staged with Zonta Club I, USJ-R, and other organizations.
Looking Forward
The group looks forward to seeing Domingo and his family back in Cebu. Domingo served as a former US Consul and remains active in maintaining ties with his former colleagues in Cebu.
