Over 300 Laguna Teachers Now Use AI in Classrooms to Modernize Education
300+ Laguna Teachers Integrate AI into Daily Lessons

In a significant step to modernize the country's education system, more than 300 teachers from public schools in the Sta. Rosa and Calamba clusters of Laguna have started using artificial intelligence in their daily classroom instruction.

Training and Tools for a Digital Shift

The educators participated in a series of training sessions held on November 28 and December 4, 2025. The program equipped them with AI-powered teaching assistants designed to handle time-consuming tasks. These tools help in creating lesson plans, generating assessments, and managing classroom activities in real-time.

By automating these administrative duties, the initiative seeks to give teachers more time. This freed-up time allows educators to focus on personalized student mentorship and enables learners to grasp concepts at their own individual pace.

Partnership Aims to Bridge Learning Gaps

This project is a collaborative effort between CitySavings Bank Cebu and Khan Academy Philippines. The core mission of the partnership is to address persistent learning gaps across the Philippines, with a special focus on reaching students in remote and underserved communities.

A key component of the program is providing free access to advanced digital resources. One such resource is "Khanmigo," an innovative AI-based teaching tool that offers interactive learning experiences.

Teachers and Organizers See Positive Impact

Educators who were part of the initial pilot run have reported positive outcomes. Mikee Landicho, a teacher from Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School, highlighted the technology's role in building essential skills.

"The interactive practice exercises and the instant feedback provided significantly enhance the learning process," Landicho stated, noting its value in developing problem-solving abilities among students.

Paula Ruelan, Head of Reputation and Brand Management at CitySavings, framed the initiative as a joint effort to build a sustainable and advanced learning ecosystem.

"By providing teachers with AI-powered resources... we are not just supporting their current professional development, but actively co-creating a sustainable environment where both educators and students can thrive," Ruelan explained.

Scaling Up for National Benefit

This AI integration program is part of a broader series of support efforts for the Department of Education, which has previously included donations of laptops and essential school equipment. The organizers have expressed a clear goal to scale the program to benefit more public school divisions throughout the country, signaling a long-term commitment to transforming Philippine education through technology.
