Silent Sanctuary Achieves International Milestone with Sold-Out Japan Tour and Singapore Performance

OPM rockestra band Silent Sanctuary is poised to reach a significant international milestone as they prepare for a three-date tour in Japan from March 27 to 29, followed by a concert in Singapore on April 5 at Timbre+ One North. Originally scheduled as a single performance, the Japan tour expanded to three sold-out shows due to overwhelming fan demand, marking a remarkable achievement for the Filipino group.

Unexpected Fan Support Drives Tour Expansion

Vocalist Sarkie Sarangay expressed surprise at the band's large fanbase in Japan, stating, "This is our first time in Japan. Supposed to be one show only, but because of the fans, they opened a second show and then a third." Violinist Kim Mirandilla-Ng described the upcoming tour as a moment of gratitude for a new adventure, while cellist Anjo Inacay emphasized the exciting growth of OPM music across Asia, noting the thrill of seeing Filipino music resonate in neighboring countries.

Performance Details and Musical Expectations

The band will perform at Mr. Back Saitama, Livehouse Shinjuku SAMURAI, and Heaven's Door in Japan, showcasing their signature blend of rock instrumentation and classical strings. Members shared that performing in Japan brings both excitement and challenge, as they aim to meet overseas fans and deliver performances that align with the high musical standards of Japan's livehouse scene. Audiences can anticipate a mix of classic hits, deeper cuts, and selected fan requests during the shows.

Singapore Show and New Single Release

Following the Japan dates, Silent Sanctuary will continue their international appearances in Singapore, where Sarangay promises a "full-blast performance" for supporters abroad. Tickets for the Singapore show are available via Peatix. Coinciding with the tour, the band released their new single "UNA" under Universal Records on February 27. This refreshed version of a track originally recorded as a demo in 2009 is now available on all major streaming platforms, adding to their creative evolution.

Band's Enduring Passion and Legacy

After more than two decades in the industry, Silent Sanctuary remains driven by a passion for songwriting, live performance, and connecting with audiences worldwide. Sarangay conveyed a heartfelt message to fans: "Walang humpay na pasasalamat. Thank you to all the old and new fans. Sana hindi kayo magsawa, dahil hindi kami magsasawa gumawa ng kanta para sa inyo." Formed in 2002, Silent Sanctuary is one of the Philippines' most recognized OPM rock bands, celebrated for their distinctive rockestra sound that merges alternative rock with orchestral elements like violin and cello. With numerous hit songs and sold-out concerts across the Philippines, the band continues to expand its international reach while creating new music for both longtime supporters and new listeners.
