Cebuana Lhuillier has officially unveiled the distinguished panel of eleven judges who will determine the winner of The Search for the Happiest Pinoy, with the awarding ceremony scheduled for this December. This diverse group of leaders, recognized for their exceptional expertise and compassionate service, reflects the core values of optimism and resilience that the program champions.
Leadership and Compassion Define the Judging Panel
Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, emphasized the judges' crucial role. He stated that each member personifies what The Happiest Pinoy represents: strength of character, compassion for others, and an unwavering belief in the power of positivity. Their collective integrity ensures the selection process remains fair and true to the program's foundational values of celebrating the Filipino spirit.
Meet the Distinguished Judges
The panel is composed of influential figures from various sectors who have made significant impacts on communities across the Philippines.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the city's first female mayor, brings a record of leadership in governance, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. Her work has earned her more than 400 awards and citations from prestigious organizations including the United Nations and Forbes.
Former Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, the first transgender woman elected to the Philippine Congress, continues to be a powerful voice for equality, inclusivity, and human rights. Her advocacy has gained international recognition from Time Magazine, the World Economic Forum, and Foreign Policy.

Champions of Community and Social Enterprise
The panel also includes advocates dedicated to grassroots development and social progress.
Roxanne Montealegre-Luz, founder of A-List and Chinggay's, champions local artisans and family-centered enterprises in her home province of Marinduque.
Jonathan D. Batangan, Executive Director of the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc., has strengthened the company's social programs in financial inclusion, education, and disaster resilience, helping transform The Happiest Pinoy into a national movement.
Other notable judges include Kim Fajardo, a celebrated volleyball athlete and youth role model; Sabrina Tamayo, founder of the volunteer-driven Project Smile; and Lester Mendoza, a social entrepreneur and sustainable agriculture advocate.
Wisdom from Past Winners
Adding a unique perspective to the panel are former grand winners of The Happiest Pinoy: Winston Maxino (inaugural awardee and motivational speaker), Rommel Arellano (2012 winner and guidance counselor), and Zaldy Bueno (nationally recognized educator). Their firsthand experience brings invaluable insight and authenticity to the judging process.
As the search enters its final stage, these eleven judges face the important task of selecting the Filipino who best embodies the joy, resilience, and hope that define the national character. The Search for the Happiest Pinoy remains Cebuana Lhuillier's flagship advocacy program, honoring ordinary Filipinos who demonstrate extraordinary positivity and strength of character while facing life's many challenges.
