Bombo Radyo Marks 60 Years of Media Excellence

The iconic voice of Filipino radio, Bombo Radyo Philippines, has officially begun a week-long celebration of its 60th year on air. The network's leadership and key personnel have gathered in Iloilo City to mark this historic milestone and chart the course for the future.

A Week of Strategy and Celebration in Iloilo

From January 5 to 11, 2026, Bombo Radyo Philippines is holding its Top Level Management Conference under the theme “Bombo Radyo Philippines: Celebrating 60 Years of Media Excellence.” The event is spearheaded by Chairman Dr. Rogelio M. Florete and President and CEO Margaret Ruth C. Florete.

This significant gathering brings together station managers and senior officers from the network's 25 key areas across the country. The conference is not just a celebration but a strategic planning session focused on innovation, public service, and reinforcing the network's commitment to credible and responsible broadcasting as it moves beyond its 60th year.

A Legacy Built on Awards and Public Trust

As part of its diamond anniversary, Bombo Radyo is reflecting on a legacy decorated with prestigious awards. Its flagship program, Bombo Network News, is a back-to-back winner of the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) as Best News Program for 2024 and 2025.

The network's FM arm, Star FM, was named Best Entertainment Program for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025. Furthermore, the flagship station, Bombo Radyo Iloilo, earned top honors at the 28th Golden Dove Awards (2025) by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), winning Best AM Station (Provincial) and Best News Program (Provincial).

Beyond trophies, the network's strength is validated by independent surveys that measure public trust. In November 2024, the Philippine Information Agency's National Survey on Media and Information Literacy of Filipino Youth named Bombo Radyo the Most Trusted News and Information Source in the Radio category.

This trust is echoed among adults, with OCTA Research (December 2024) citing Bombo Radyo as the leading radio source of news and information. The network has also consistently ranked at the top in the quarterly Pahayag Survey by Publicus Asia, Inc. under the Most Trusted Media Outlets in the Radio category.

Looking Forward with a Digital Foundation

The conference also serves to reaffirm Bombo Radyo Philippines' position as the country's leading radio network. It currently operates 32 fully digitalized AM and FM stations nationwide, ensuring its service remains robust and modern.

This 60th-anniversary celebration is framed as a heartfelt thank you to the Filipino public. The network's leadership emphasizes that it is because of the listeners' unwavering support that Bombo Radyo continues to uphold excellence and deliver news and public service with unmatched performance. As their famous tagline goes: Basta Radyo, Bombo!
