The Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team (PEMAT) will arrive in Glan, Sarangani tomorrow, June 14, to deliver specialized medical services and clean drinking water for residents affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.
Composition of the Medical Team
According to the Department of Health, the PEMAT from DOH-Cotabato Regional Medical Center includes surgeons, obstetrician-gynecologists, emergency medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and internists. The team also consists of nurses, midwives, medical and radiation technologists, physical therapists, mental health specialists, engineers, and administrative staff.
Equipment and Supplies
The group will bring anti-diarrheal medications and a gravity-powered ultrafiltration unit capable of providing thousands of liters of clean and safe drinking water for the affected communities.
