Taho Vendor Nabbed in Toledo City Drug Bust

A taho vendor was caught in a secret sideline after he and his accomplice were successfully arrested in a buy-bust operation by authorities in Barangay Talavera, Toledo City, early Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026.

The suspects were identified as Alfredo Elorde Rubin Jr., 37, who has a live-in partner and works as a taho vendor, and his companion Armando Gesman Lazaga Jr., 31, single. Both are residents of the said barangay.

The operation was conducted by operatives of the Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Toledo City Police Station. Recovered from the suspects' possession were six packets of suspected shabu weighing 2.60 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P17,680.

The suspects are currently detained at the Toledo Police Station while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
