The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) has received nearly seven tons of relief goods from the Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) in a significant inter-regional assistance effort for victims of Typhoon Tino.
Massive Relief Operation
Under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Ericson Dilag, PRO-CAR delivered the essential supplies to PRO-7 on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The relief goods are intended for communities severely affected by Typhoon Tino, which caused extensive damage and claimed numerous lives across Cebu.
The assistance package includes 52 sacks of rice along with other household necessities desperately needed by affected families. This initiative demonstrates the importance of solidarity within the Philippine National Police, proving that distance is no barrier to providing crucial support.
Community-Driven Donation Effort
The relief operation began on Friday, November 7, 2025, when PRO-CAR personnel conducted a donation drive at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet. The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 and Benguet Police Provincial Office collaborated with the Office of The Civil Defense-CAR to gather essential supplies.
Contributions came from various sources including:
- Volunteer agencies and cooperatives
- Educational institutions
- Private individuals and generous organizations
- Baguio City Police Office, which distributed donations received from Baguio City
Strategic Delivery Process
In the early hours of Saturday, November 8, 2025, the RMFB 15 transported the relief goods to Clark Air Base in Pampanga. From there, the Philippine Airforce airlifted the supplies via C-130 aircraft bound for Cebu.
The delivery was coordinated with the Vice Chairperson of the Battalion Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development of RMFB 15, working alongside the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD) of Police Regional Office 7 and the Philippine Airforce.
Gratitude and Commitment
Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, the police chief of Central Visayas, expressed profound gratitude to the entire PRO-CAR family for their support and assistance to Typhoon Tino victims.
"Your kindness not only provides much-needed relief to our personnel and communities affected by Typhoon 'Tino,' but also strengthens our shared commitment to serve and protect with empathy, unity, and hope," stated Maranan.
The general assured that all donations from the neighboring region will be distributed to affected families, emphasizing the PNP's dedication to supporting communities during times of crisis.
