The death toll in Cebu continues to climb sharply as search, rescue, and retrieval operations intensify in the wake of the devastating Typhoon Tino.

Rising Casualty Count Across the Province

According to the latest situational report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) as of 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, the province has recorded a tragic 109 fatalities, 311 injured individuals, and 66 persons still missing.

The municipality of Liloan has been the hardest hit, reporting 32 deaths. It is closely followed by Compostela with 31 fatalities and Mandaue City with 15. Other areas with significant numbers include Danao City with nine deaths and Talisay City with seven.

The list of affected areas also includes Balamban with 11 fatalities, Asturias with two, and one death each in Bantayan and Tabogon.

Breakdown of Injuries and Missing Persons

Liloan also leads in the number of injured persons at 126. Balamban follows with 119 injured, and Compostela has 60. Talisay City reported six injured individuals.

Compostela accounts for the majority of the 66 missing persons, with 43 individuals unaccounted for. Balamban has 14 missing people. Other municipalities with missing persons are Asturias and Liloan with four each, and Danao and Mandaue with one each.

Cebu City's Separate Report and Ongoing Operations

In Cebu City, the City DRRMO reported 33 deaths and six missing persons as of Saturday. Barangay Bacayan was the most severely affected area, recording 18 fatalities over the five-day period from Tuesday, November 4, to Saturday.

Other barangays with casualties include Binaliw and Sapangdaku with four deaths each, and Paril and Pit-os with two each. Smaller numbers were reported in Talamban, Guadalupe, Cogon Pardo, Buhisan, Quiot Pardo, and Kalunasan.

The missing individuals in Cebu City are residents from the barangays of Bacayan, Binaliw, Paril, and Lusaran. Their identities are being withheld pending official verification by the National Bureau of Investigation, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Rescue and retrieval efforts remain fully active across Cebu. The PDRRMO is coordinating closely with city and municipal DRRMOs, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the PNP to locate all missing persons and recover bodies.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant, especially those living in landslide-prone mountain barangays and areas near river systems, as the risk of further weather disturbances and ground movement persists in the typhoon's aftermath.
