Massive Relief Operation Bridges Regions for Typhoon Victims
The Police Regional Office 7 in Central Visayas has received a significant shipment of humanitarian assistance totaling nearly seven tons of relief goods from their counterparts in the Cordillera Administrative Region. This substantial donation arrived on Saturday, November 8, 2025, marking a powerful display of inter-regional solidarity.
Brigadier General Ericson Dilag, the director of PRO-CAR, personally led the initiative to support communities in Cebu that suffered devastating impacts from typhoon Tino. The powerful storm caused widespread destruction across the province and resulted in numerous casualties, leaving many families in urgent need of assistance.
Essential Supplies for Affected Families
The comprehensive relief package included 52 sacks of rice along with various other essential household supplies desperately needed by families displaced and affected by the typhoon's fury. This timely assistance demonstrates the Philippine National Police's commitment to serving communities beyond their regular law enforcement duties.
The donation drive originated from Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet on Friday, November 7, where PRO-CAR personnel mobilized resources through a coordinated effort. The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 and the Benguet Police Provincial Office organized the activity in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense-CAR.
Contributions poured in from multiple sources including various volunteer agencies, cooperatives, schools, private individuals, and charitable groups. The Baguio City Police Office further strengthened the initiative by turning over donations collected from Baguio City residents.
Strategic Logistics and Transportation
In an impressive logistical operation, the RMFB 15 transported the massive relief shipment to Clark Air Base in Pampanga early Saturday. From there, the Philippine Air Force airlifted the goods aboard a C-130 aircraft destined for Cebu.
This complex transport required careful coordination between multiple agencies including the vice chairperson of the Battalion Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development of RMFB 15, the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division of PRO 7, and the Philippine Air Force.
Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, director of PRO 7, expressed profound gratitude to the entire PRO-CAR family for their generous support. "Your kindness not only provides much-needed relief to our personnel and communities affected by typhoon Tino, but also strengthens our shared commitment to serve and protect with empathy, unity and hope," Maranan stated.
The general assured the public that the relief goods from the Cordillera region would be promptly delivered to affected families requiring immediate assistance, ensuring that the generosity shown by distant communities reaches those most in need.
