Major Roads Submerged in Pampanga Towns
Significant flooding has made several crucial roads in the towns of Masantol and Candaba completely impassable to all vehicles as of Tuesday noon, November 11, 2025. The rising waters have effectively cut off vital transportation routes, creating major disruptions for local communities.
Affected Roads and Infrastructure
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), specific road sections have become inaccessible due to the flood situation. In Masantol, portions of Kalsadang Bayu and Sta. Lucia–San Nicolas Road are now underwater. Meanwhile, in Candaba, the Mapaniqui–Anyatam Road has also been rendered unusable by the floodwaters.
These roads serve as critical connectors, linking multiple barangays to the Metro Plaza and Poblacion areas within their respective municipalities. The loss of these transportation arteries has significantly impacted local mobility and access to essential services.
Causes of the Widespread Flooding
Local officials have identified three primary factors contributing to the severe flooding conditions. The situation has been exacerbated by high tide phenomena, continuous heavy rains brought by Super Typhoon "Uwan," and the natural descent of floodwaters from upstream areas flowing toward the lower sections of the Pampanga River.
The combination of these elements has created a perfect storm scenario, overwhelming local drainage systems and natural waterways. Residents are advised to avoid the affected areas and seek alternative routes until waters recede and authorities declare the roads safe for travel again.
