Mandaue City Resumes Face-to-Face Classes on Nov 13, 2025
Mandaue City Classes Resume, Some Schools Use Blended Learning

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito "Jonkie" Ouano has officially declared the return of face-to-face classes across all public schools in the city starting Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Blended Learning for Affected Schools

While the majority of public schools will welcome students back to their classrooms, a specific list of twelve institutions will continue with blended learning modalities. This decision directly results from their facilities still functioning as evacuation centers for families displaced by Typhoon Tino as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12.

The following public schools will implement blended learning until further notice:

  • Cabancalan I Elementary School
  • Mandaue City Central School
  • Maguikay National High School
  • Canduman National High School
  • Paknaan National High School
  • Tabok Elementary School I
  • Canduman Elementary School
  • Labogon Elementary School
  • Paknaan Elementary School
  • Tabok National High School
  • Maguikay Elementary School
  • Tingub National High School

Autonomy for Private Schools and a Call for Unity

In a separate directive, private schools within Mandaue City have been granted the autonomy to decide their own academic delivery method. They can choose to resume traditional in-person instruction or adopt Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM) based on their individual assessments and readiness.

Mayor Ouano took to social media to express his profound gratitude to the Mandauehanons for their continued patience, understanding, and cooperation during this challenging period of recovery. He urged the entire community to maintain this collaborative spirit, encapsulating his message with a powerful call to action in Cebuano: "Magtinabangay tang tanan sa atong pagbangon ug pagpadayon" (Let us all help each other in our recovery and continuation).
