President Marcos Conducts Aerial Inspection of Typhoon Damage

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. successfully visited Cebu on Friday, November 7, 2025, to personally assess the situation of victims affected by Typhoon Tino. The presidential inspection included an aerial survey of both northern and southern parts of Cebu to evaluate the extensive damage left by the powerful storm.

Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan described the security operations as smooth and peaceful, with no incidents recorded during the entire visit. The security plan implemented by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 was followed perfectly, ensuring the President's safety throughout his inspection tour.

Personal Engagement with Typhoon Victims

President Marcos made a significant stop at the evacuation center in Barangay Cotcot, Liloan City, where he personally met with affected families. During his visit, he interacted directly with evacuees and coordinated with officials from national government agencies to monitor relief efforts.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is currently providing family food packs to the displaced residents. According to latest data, approximately 276 families or 1,110 individuals are currently staying at the evacuation center while recovering from the typhoon's impact.

Critical Infrastructure Assessment

The President also conducted a thorough inspection of the Mananga Bridge in Barangay San Isidro, Lawaan II, Talisay City. This critical infrastructure suffered significant damage due to powerful flood waters during the typhoon. Following the bridge inspection, President Marcos proceeded to the Talisay Sports Academy Evacuation Center in Lawaan II.

During his time at the evacuation center, Marcos personally monitored the distribution of assistance and conversed with residents affected by the natural disaster. His hands-on approach demonstrated the administration's commitment to addressing the immediate needs of typhoon victims.

Police Brigadier General Maranan expressed gratitude to all personnel and law enforcement partners who contributed to the successful security operations for the presidential visit. The coordinated effort ensured that the assessment of Typhoon Tino's damage could proceed without interruption, allowing for comprehensive evaluation of recovery needs.
