SunStar Opens Relief Center for Typhoon Tino Victims

In a swift response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino, SunStar Philippines has activated its civic initiative to bridge help between donors and affected communities.

Drop-Off Center for Essential Goods

The national multimedia provider has officially opened its #SunStarBayanihan drop-off center at the SunStar Cebu building. The center, located at SunStar Publishing Inc., P. del Rosario St., Cebu City, is now actively collecting critical relief supplies for families impacted across Cebu and neighboring provinces.

The organization is welcoming donations of essential items such as bottled water, canned goods, instant noodles, rice, toiletries, and blankets. These supplies are urgently needed to support the recovery of communities hit by the powerful typhoon.

Connecting Donors Through Multiple Channels

Beyond serving as a physical collection hub, the #SunStarBayanihan campaign leverages SunStar's social media platforms to connect willing donors directly with verified community drives and volunteer networks. This multi-channel approach ensures help reaches where it's needed most efficiently.

This effort represents part of SunStar's continuing civic mission to facilitate disaster response. Other ongoing support includes publishing verified relief information, lists of free legal and medical services, and updates on available shelters and charging stations throughout Cebu.

Cash Donation Options Available

For those outside Cebu or preferring monetary contributions, SunStar has established a dedicated bank channel for cash donations. Donations can be sent via:

  • Metrobank – SunStar Publishing Inc.
  • Account Number: 330-3-33090241-9
  • Swift Code: MBTCPHMM

Donors are requested to email proof of payment to sunstarphils@gmail.com with the subject DONATION FOR TINO, including their full name for proper acknowledgment. The initiative demonstrates the enduring spirit of bayanihan, bringing hope and practical assistance to disaster-stricken families.
