Fire Erupts on P. Reyes Street

The blaze started at 6:06 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. It originated at Buner Enterprises, a business owned by Gulhab Gulmohammad, located along P. Reyes Street in Zone 4 village, Zamboanga City.

Firefighters Contain Second Alarm Blaze

According to Superintendent Leo Pioquinto, the marshal of the Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD), the fire quickly escalated to a second alarm. Firefighting crews managed to contain the flames by approximately 7:10 p.m. The fire was officially declared extinguished at around 9:02 p.m. the same evening.

Pioquinto confirmed a critical detail: no injuries or fatalities were reported in connection with the incident. The primary loss was the complete destruction of the commercial building and its contents.

Cause and Estimated Damage

The total value of properties destroyed in the fire is preliminarily estimated at around P960,000. As of the latest reports, fire investigators have not yet determined the exact cause of the blaze. The investigation into the origin of the New Year's Eve fire is ongoing.
