Pampanga Scavengers Get Cash and Rice Aid

More than 1,500 scavengers from various towns in Pampanga received financial assistance and rice from the provincial government during a distribution event led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.

Recognition of Contributions

Provincial officials acknowledged the vital role of scavengers in environmental protection and solid waste management. The beneficiaries, who work in waste segregation and cleanliness efforts across the province, each received P2,000 in cash and rice.

Governor Pineda emphasized that scavengers are essential to maintaining cleanliness and proper waste disposal in communities. The aid aims to support their livelihoods while encouraging continued participation in waste management initiatives.

Officials Present

Also present during the activity were First District Board Members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili; 2nd District Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, Claire Lim, and Sajid Khan Eusoof; and 4th District Board Member Kaye Naguit.

The provincial government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting workers who contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment in Pampanga.
