Vivant Transcore Acquires Bantayan Water Distributor, Enhancing Utility Services for Island Community

More than 4,000 households in Bantayan Island, located in northern Cebu, are poised to experience significantly improved water services following a strategic acquisition by Vivant Transcore Holdings Inc. The company has taken over local water distributor Bantayan Resource Management and Development Corp., commonly known as Bremandcor, in a move designed to deliver more reliable and integrated utility solutions to the island's residents.

Full Ownership and Operational Control Secured

Through its parent company, Vivant Infracore Holdings Inc., Vivant Water has now secured full ownership and operational control of Bremandcor. This acquisition enables the company to directly manage service delivery, undertake critical infrastructure upgrades, and enhance overall system efficiency across the entire municipality. By taking charge of operations, Vivant aims to address long-standing challenges related to water access in this geographically constrained island community.

Expected Benefits for Residents and Tourism Sector

Residents can anticipate a more consistent water supply, improved service quality, and sustained investments in distribution facilities. These enhancements are particularly vital for Bantayan Island, where geographical factors often limit access to basic utilities. Additionally, the improved water services are expected to bolster the island's growing tourism sector, which relies heavily on stable and dependable utility infrastructure to support hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses.

Integration with Broader Water Portfolio

This expansion into water distribution complements Vivant's existing water-related ventures, which include bulk water supply from the Isla Mactan Cordova Corp. desalination plant and wastewater management through the Puerto Princesa Water Reclamation and Learning Center. By linking these diverse capabilities, the company seeks to create a more integrated and resilient water system that can better withstand environmental and operational challenges.

Company Vision and Strategic Focus

Jess Garcia, president of Vivant Water, emphasized that this development aligns with the company's vision of providing reliable water solutions in areas that need them most. "This acquisition completes our vision of bringing reliable water solutions where they are needed most," Garcia stated, highlighting Vivant's commitment to improving access to essential services in underserved and geographically challenging regions like Bantayan Island.

Strengthening Infrastructure Development Role

The acquisition further solidifies Vivant's role in Bantayan's infrastructure development. Since 2022, the company has served as the island's sole power provider through Isla Norte Power Corp. With both electricity and water services now under its portfolio, Vivant is well-positioned to support households, local businesses, and tourism-driven economic growth with more stable and coordinated utility services. This integrated approach promises to enhance the overall quality of life and economic resilience on the island.
