The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) made the decisive move to suspend all its scheduled events on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This action was taken as Typhoon Uwan, internationally named Fung-Wong, continued to batter large portions of the Luzon region with intense rainfall and powerful winds.
Postponed Matches and League Statement
In an official announcement, the league confirmed the postponement of all basketball, men's football, and high school volleyball games set for that day. This precautionary step was implemented to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.
Among the highly anticipated matchups affected were the men's basketball rivalry game between the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and the De La Salle University Green Archers. The men's football fixtures were not spared, with the games featuring UST versus FEU and La Salle against the University of the Philippines being called off.
