38 Pinoy Crew of MV Hondius Negative for Hantavirus

All 38 Filipino crew members of the MV Hondius have tested negative for hantavirus, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The vessel had previously reported cases of the viral disease among its crew. The DMW confirmed that the Filipino seafarers underwent retesting and are scheduled to complete their quarantine on June 18.

Asymptomatic and Under Care

Oceanwide Expeditions, the operator of the MV Hondius, confirmed that the Filipino crew remain asymptomatic and are receiving proper medical care under strict monitoring. The company assured that all crew members will receive full compensation during and after the mandatory six-week quarantine period. They will be repatriated as soon as Dutch health authorities grant clearance.

No Positive Cases Among Filipinos

The DMW earlier confirmed that no Filipino staff under quarantine in the Netherlands tested positive for the virus, which has claimed three lives aboard a cargo ship. The DMW continues to coordinate with Dutch authorities and the shipping company to ensure the welfare of the Filipino crew.
