The Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) made a strong comeback by securing a spot in the overall top four of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa, held in Agusan del Sur and concluding on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Medal tally and rankings
CVIRAA amassed a total of 32 gold, 30 silver, and 44 bronze medals, propelling them to the top four for the first time since 2018. This marks a significant improvement from their seventh-place finish in the previous edition held in Ilocos Norte.
The National Capital Region (NCR) dominated the national sporting event as usual, clinching their 19th overall championship with an impressive medal haul of 91 gold, 71 silver, and 71 bronze.

- Region IV-A finished second with 55 gold, 50 silver, and 60 bronze medals.
- Region XI secured third place with 34 gold, 32 silver, and 34 bronze medals.
- Western Visayas completed the top five with 31 gold, 36 silver, and 45 bronze medals.
The return of Central Visayas to the top four highlights the region's growing strength in youth sports development and athletic competition.
