The nation of Kyrgyzstan will field the largest delegation with 57 participants in the 11th Asia-Oceania Sambo Championships, presented by the Philippine Sports Commission under the NST-IAC. The competition is scheduled to begin on June 23, 2026, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium within the historic Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Pilipinas Sambo Federation President Paolo Tancontian highlighted that the significant presence of Kyrgyzstanis underscores the importance of this international sambo showcase for Asia and Oceania. “We are expecting about 600 athletes from 29 countries from all over Asia and Oceania to come over and compete in the tournament we are hosting, which is arguably second only to our world championships,” he added.
The five-day event will bring together top sambo athletes from across the region, demonstrating the growing popularity of the sport. The Philippines is proud to host this prestigious championship, which aims to strengthen ties and promote athletic excellence among participating nations.
