PCG Warns of Falling Debris from China Rocket

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has issued a warning to fishermen in northern Luzon regarding the possible fall of debris from a Chinese rocket launch. According to a notice to mariners from the PCG station in Isabela, China will launch its Long March 7A rocket from Wenchang in Hainan on June 23 between 10:02 AM and 11:00 AM.

Drop Zones Identified

Two drop zones have been identified in northern Luzon. The first zone is located 42 nautical miles from Burgos, Ilocos Norte, and 65 nautical miles from Dalupiri Island in Cagayan. The second drop zone is 60 nautical miles from Santa Ana, Cagayan, and 72 nautical miles from Camiguin Norte, Cagayan.

Safety Precautions

The PCG advised fishermen to avoid these areas for their safety. The public is also urged to immediately report any sighting of debris from the rocket launch to authorities and not to touch it, as it may contain hazardous chemicals.
