48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu Cut to 3 Days

The 48th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Cebu has been shortened to three days, now scheduled from Wednesday, May 6, to Friday, May 8, 2026. This decision follows an order from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to streamline preparations for all ASEAN meetings.

According to a press release, the key activities of leaders will remain on the compressed schedule while focusing on urgent regional priorities such as energy, food security, and the safety of ASEAN residents amid ongoing global tensions. The summit was originally set for five days, from May 5 to 9.

President Marcos is scheduled to attend the event on May 7 and 8.
