Israel's military has launched new attacks in southern Lebanon, according to state media, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's call for restraint. Reports indicate that drone strikes hit the areas of Mansouri and Aaziyyeh, causing several injuries. Israeli fighter jets also conducted airstrikes in Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the latest attacks. However, it confirmed that five of its soldiers were wounded in a drone attack by the Hezbollah group.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, which mediated between the United States and Iran, stated that Lebanon is included in the agreement aimed at ending tensions in the Middle East. On Tuesday, Trump urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to act responsibly regarding the situation in Lebanon.
Speaking at the G7 Summit, Trump noted that Israel has been fighting Hezbollah for a long time and that many lives have been affected by the ongoing violence. Despite the agreement announced on Sunday between the U.S. and Iran, Israel and Hezbollah continue to launch attacks against each other.
Before the agreement was reached, Israel carried out an airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut in response to a rocket attack allegedly launched by Hezbollah. Although Trump said he has a good relationship with Netanyahu, he admitted he disagreed with some of Israel's attacks and believed they were excessive.
Netanyahu insisted that Israeli forces would remain in Lebanon as long as necessary. Iran's top military leader warned that Israel could face a harsh response if it does not stop attacks on southern Lebanon.
