24 jailed Filipinos return from Russia after Marcos-Putin meet

Twenty-four Filipinos who were detained in Russia are scheduled to return to the Philippines after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s two-day visit to Russia, during which he personally met with President Vladimir Putin.

Repatriation Details

Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave Gomez announced that the Filipinos will arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in the early morning of Sunday, June 21. The returnees will come in two batches: six will land at 12:05 a.m. on Philippine Airlines Flight PR 737, while the remaining 18 will arrive at around 4:05 a.m. on Philippine Airlines Flight PR 733. Both flights originate from Bangkok, Thailand.

Assistance and Reception

Gomez added that the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok has assured assistance for the 24 Filipinos. Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro will welcome the first batch of returning Filipinos from Russia.
