The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has confirmed that it has not received any request to cancel or suspend the passport of Senator Ronald dela Rosa amid the issue surrounding an alleged arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC). According to DFA spokesperson Analyn Ratonel, under the New Philippine Passport Act, a passport can only be canceled based on specific reasons stated in the law, and a simple issuance of a warrant from a local or international court is not among them. The DFA also clarified that there is no basis yet to review dela Rosa's passport status as they have not received any court order regarding the matter. However, the DFA stated that a passport can only be canceled if there is a hold departure order from Philippine authorities or if the holder is declared a fugitive by a court.
