A 26-year-old man is now in police custody after being caught in the act of voyeurism, peeping on an 18-year-old woman while she was taking a bath. The incident occurred in Cebu City on Friday morning, December 5, 2025.
Caught in the Act at a Sta. Cruz Boarding House
The suspect, identified only by the alias Bruno, was apprehended at around 10:10 AM along Junquera Street in Barangay Sta. Cruz. According to reports from the Abellana Police Station, Bruno works as a housekeeper at a condominium in Barangay Lahug. Both the victim and the suspect were residents of the same boarding house, although they occupied separate rooms and shared a common bathroom.
A Disturbing Confession and a Brazen Act
During questioning, Bruno made a shocking confession to investigators. He claimed he was "tempted by demons" who whispered to him that the young woman was beautiful while she was undressed and bathing. Acting on this impulse, he allegedly peeped through a window that had broken glass, which was temporarily covered by a piece of plywood.
The victim discovered Bruno spying on her through the window's screen, causing her to scream for help immediately. Her cries alerted others and led to the suspect being cornered. The brave young woman then personally sought assistance from the police, which resulted in Bruno's swift arrest.
Victim Pursues Justice Despite Apology
Although the suspect expressed remorse and begged for forgiveness during the investigation, the traumatized victim remains resolute. She is determined to file formal charges against Bruno due to the extreme fear and danger she experienced. Police have not disclosed the specific charges yet, but they are preparing a case based on the victim's complaint and the evidence gathered.
