The suspect, identified as Ariel Antolihao Faciol, a 26-year-old resident of Proper, Barangay Talamban, targeted a passenger in a public utility jeepney (PUJ), leading to a quick public response.

According to an investigation by the Talamban Police, the victim, a 31-year-old individual using the alias Roxie, was on their way home to Mandaue City after work. While traveling in the jeepney, Roxie became distracted by using their cellphone. Seizing the opportunity, Faciol suddenly snatched the device and attempted to flee the scene.

Fortunately, several motorists witnessed the snatching and immediately sprang into action. They pursued Faciol, catching up to him and recovering the stolen cellphone.
