MSC Bellissima Cruise: Luxury & Asian Ports Review

MSC Bellissima Cruise: A Floating World of Luxury and Adventure

From the moment I stepped aboard the MSC Bellissima, it felt like entering a vibrant floating universe filled with dazzling lights, captivating music, and endless entertainment. This magnificent ship, one of the largest in the MSC cruise fleet, is expertly designed for travelers seeking a perfect balance of opulence and fun on the high seas. It truly stands as a destination in its own right, offering an unforgettable journey from start to finish.

Iconic Features and Onboard Elegance

As I was guided to the main deck, the iconic Swarovski crystal staircase immediately captured my attention, taking my breath away with its sparkling brilliance. Positioned at the heart of the ship, this dazzling centerpiece quickly became a favorite spot for guests to snap photos and admire. But it was more than just a visual spectacle; walking up and down those shimmering stairs felt like an integral part of the luxurious experience, adding a touch of glamour to every ascent and descent.

Another standout feature is the giant LED screen above the main hall, which holds the record for the longest LED dome at sea. This digital ceiling transforms the ambiance with various scenic displays that change according to the theme, creating an immersive environment. Both of these remarkable elements are exclusive to the MSC cruise line, setting it apart from other maritime adventures.

Comfortable Cabins and Relaxing Sea Days

Waking up at sea offers a uniquely serene experience, especially when you are nestled in your own cozy cabin. Sea days were pure relaxation, with no alarms or rush to disturb the peace. I stayed in a verandah room featuring a private balcony, where every morning I could sit outside, admire the calm and clear waters, and feel the gentle rhythm of the ship gliding through the ocean.

The cabins are thoughtfully designed to be both comfortable and practical, boasting ample cabinets and storage space. A helpful tip for cruisers is to utilize all the dressers, drawers, and closet areas to avoid spreading luggage everywhere while unpacking. The bed was exceptionally cozy, providing perfect rest after long hours of exploring various ports and onboard activities.

Amenities and Culinary Delights Onboard

MSC Bellissima is a massive vessel, and exploring it feels like wandering through a modern city at sea. Three entire decks are dedicated to wellness, fully equipped with a full-size gym, sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, and private jacuzzis for ultimate relaxation.

For thrill-seekers, the ship elevates fun to new heights with a water park located on the topmost deck. This exciting area features high-speed slides, twisty tubes, and splash playgrounds suitable for both kids and adults. Interactive water cannons, tipping buckets, and water games add an extra layer of excitement, encouraging active play, teamwork, and plenty of laughter for families enjoying their time together.

After a day filled with adventure, dining onboard feels like a special event, from the elegant presentations to the exquisite flavors and overall vibrant atmosphere. Guests can indulge in multicourse meals or explore a variety of specialty restaurants, each offering unique culinary experiences.

World-Class Entertainment and Unique Activities

Entertainment onboard MSC Bellissima is truly world-class, with the ship coming alive in the evenings through Broadway-style theater shows and breathtaking acrobatics. Each night offers interactive musicals and magic shows performed by talented artists from around the globe, ensuring there is always something captivating to enjoy.

One of my personal highlights was the Zumba sessions, which felt more like a lively party than just a workout. Held almost every night on the pool deck, these sessions brought together guests from different countries to dance in unison. Instructors of diverse backgrounds infused the events with energy, fun, and laughter, creating a joyful communal experience.

Then there was the silent disco, where participants donned headphones with different music channels, allowing young and old to dance together in a unique and silly yet liberating way. These nights served as wonderful reminders to let go and savor the moment, adding to the ship's magical ambiance.

Aside from the main shows, tucked away on the game room deck is a pair of full-scale F1 simulators. Developed through a global partnership with Formula 1, these life-size racing cars offer more than just a game; they are performance machines used by professional drivers to hone their skills. It is a thrilling opportunity to experience a Grand Prix-style drive right at sea.

Shining Ports of Call: Jeju and Kumamoto

As MSC Bellissima sailed across the ocean, two ports of call particularly stood out for me: Jeju in South Korea and Kumamoto in Japan. Jeju, known as Korea's island paradise, greeted me with a fresh sea breeze and lush green landscapes. Its volcanic terrain, vibrant tangerine farms, and dramatic coastlines made every photo feel like a postcard-worthy masterpiece.

First on my agenda was the Innisfree Jeju House, a serene pavilion located beside the O'Sulloc Tea Museum. Visiting both in one stop became a personal favorite, as I walked through rows of tea bushes with crisp, fresh air all around. Inside, I sampled organic desserts and even had the chance to make organic soaps, adding a hands-on element to the visit.

Another highlight in Jeju was tangerine picking at a charming tangerine cafe, where guests can pluck fruit directly from the trees. Surrounded by bright orange trees, the experience felt incredibly calming. The cafe itself exuded rustic charm, and I enjoyed a tangerine-based drink and dessert, both bursting with citrusy, sweet, and refreshing flavors.

One of the joys of cruising is waking up in different ports without the usual travel hassles. The next stop brought me to Kumamoto, Japan, where docking at Kumamoto Port revealed countless Kumamon bear statues welcoming visitors at every turn. As a fan of "One Piece," I took a one-hour ride to see the Luffy statue, which filled me with excitement and nostalgia. Knowing that the creator, Eiichiro Oda, hails from Kumamoto made the experience even more meaningful and special.

After a long and fascinating day of exploration, nothing beats a delicious meal and some quiet time to reflect while watching the sunset over the sea. Cruising on MSC Bellissima felt like hitting pause on real life, offering a quiet kind of magic that sets it apart from other cruise experiences I have enjoyed.
