A former prisoner finds himself behind bars once again after police apprehended him in a targeted drug operation in Cebu City.
Nighttime Operation Nets Major Haul
Operatives from the Parian Police Station (PS1), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, conducted a successful buy-bust last Friday night, January 2, 2026. The operation took place at 9:50 PM in Sitio BSJCO, Barangay T. Padilla.
The team arrested Jesus Solite Robaro, alias "Jessie," a 56-year-old painter and resident of Kamagong Street in Barangay Lahug. Authorities confiscated from him a large, heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu. The illegal drugs weighed approximately 125 grams and carry an estimated street value of P850,000.
A Return to Crime After Early Release
Police revealed that Robaro was previously arrested for drug violations in 2020. He was released from detention in June 2025. Instead of reforming, investigators say he returned to his old ways, allegedly supplying shabu in areas including Lorega, T. Padilla, and neighboring barangays.
"His name surfaced as a supplier in the area, prompting a week of surveillance before the operation," a Parian Police representative stated. Authorities estimate he could sell up to 100 grams of shabu per week. A disturbing angle of the probe suggests his supply may be sourced from a contact inside a prison facility.
Charges and Ongoing Investigation
The confiscated substance has been turned over to the Cebu City Forensic Unit for confirmatory laboratory examination. Robaro is currently detained at the Parian Police Station while police prepare formal charges against him.
He will face violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which deal with the sale and possession of illegal drugs. This arrest highlights the ongoing challenges of recidivism in the campaign against illegal substances.
