Authorities in Lanao del Norte have scored a significant victory in the war against illegal substances with the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at over one hundred twenty thousand pesos.

Operation Details and Arrest

The successful law enforcement operation was conducted by the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office. It took place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 8:24 a.m. in Purok 6, Samburon village, Linamon.

Police operatives apprehended a 33-year-old individual known by the alias "Dex." The arrest was led under the direction of Police Colonel Leo De Leon Sua, the provincial police director.

Contraband Seized from Residence

A subsequent search of the suspect's residence yielded a substantial haul of illegal items. The seized evidence includes:

  • 18.1 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in heat-sealed plastic sachets.
  • The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is P123,080.
  • An assortment of illegal drug paraphernalia.
  • Cash amounting to P5,075 in various denominations.

Charges and Police Statement

The suspect is now facing serious legal consequences. Cases for violation of Sections 11 and 12 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing against alias Dex.

Following the operation, the suspect was placed under the custody of the Linamon Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and further legal proceedings.

Police Colonel Sua emphasized the significance of the bust. "This operation underscores the relentless commitment of Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in our communities," he stated. He further assured the public, "We will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice."

Colonel Sua also called for continued public vigilance and cooperation, urging citizens to actively support law enforcement by promptly reporting any suspected drug-related activities in their neighborhoods.
