Housekeeper Arrested for Sneaking Shabu into Talisay City Jail
Visitor Caught with P1,360 Worth of Shabu in Prison

Authorities in Talisay City, Cebu, intercepted a brazen attempt to smuggle illegal drugs into a detention facility, leading to the arrest of a visitor on Wednesday afternoon.

Visitation Ends in Arrest

The incident occurred around 12:20 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Talisay City Detention Cell located in Barangay Lawaan 2. The suspect, identified only by the alias "Wilma," is a 47-year-old housekeeper from Sityo Long Dream, Barangay Lagtang. She was visiting a detainee, alias Cesar, whom she described as her "kapuyo" or fellow villager.

Wilma reportedly tried to pass off the contraband as a simple gift or "pasalubong" for the inmate. However, vigilant police personnel conducted a routine inspection, which led to the discovery of the hidden drugs.

Drugs Concealed in Clothing

During the inspection, officers found four small packages of suspected shabu cleverly concealed. The illegal substance was not in her bag but was instead tucked into the cord line of her shorts. The seized drugs weighed approximately 0.20 grams and have an estimated street value of Philippine Peso 1,360.

Following the discovery, Wilma was immediately apprehended. Instead of leaving the detention center as a visitor, she was placed behind bars as a detainee herself, facing serious charges related to the possession and attempted delivery of dangerous drugs.

Suspect Remains Silent

Since her arrest, Wilma has refused to give any statement regarding the incident or her alleged involvement. She has chosen to remain silent, leaving investigators to piece together the case based on the physical evidence and the circumstances of her arrest.

This event highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in preventing the flow of illegal substances into correctional facilities. The Talisay City Police Station has not released further details but confirmed the arrest and the filing of appropriate charges.
