Major Drug Bust in Iloilo City

Police authorities in Western Visayas have successfully apprehended three high-value individuals (HVIs) and confiscated a significant quantity of shabu during two coordinated buy-bust operations conducted in Iloilo City.

First Operation Nets Teenage Suspect

The initial operation unfolded at 10:27 p.m. on November 12, 2025, along Jereos Street in La Paz Plaza District. Joint forces from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas and Iloilo City Police Station 2 captured a suspect known as alias Kit or Kaloy.

The 19-year-old male, reported as jobless and a resident of Barangay Baldoza, was found in possession of 11 plastic sachets and one plastic bag containing approximately 155 grams of shabu. Law enforcement also recovered the buy-bust money and other non-drug items from the scene.

Second Sting Captures Two More HVIs

Just hours later, at 2:50 a.m. on November 13, a follow-up operation was conducted in Barangay Tanza Bay-bay, City Proper District. This operation was a collaboration between the RPDEU and personnel from Iloilo City Police Station 7.

This sting led to the arrest of two additional high-value targets:

  • Alias Alog, a 44-year-old married male from Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz District.
  • Alias Bukol, a 33-year-old married male from Barangay Infante, Molo District.

Authorities seized 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets and three knot-tied plastic bags from the duo. The confiscated shabu weighed an estimated 200 grams. Buy-bust money and other non-drug pieces of evidence were also taken into custody.

Legal Proceedings and Official Statement

All three suspects are currently under police custody and will be formally charged with violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of PRO 6, commended the successful operations. He emphasized that these arrests are a testament to the regional office's relentless campaign against illegal drugs.

"We will continue to intensify our operations and strengthen our coordination with local units to bring those involved in illegal drug activities to justice," Ligan stated, reaffirming the police's commitment to curbing the drug trade in Western Visayas.
