Major Drug Den Dismantled in Cebu City Raid
Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 7, in a joint operation with Cebu City police, successfully dismantled a drug den in Sitio Macopa, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City. The raid, which took place at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, led to the arrest of the alleged den operator and four other individuals caught in the act of using shabu.
Suspects Apprehended and Evidence Seized
The primary target of the operation was the den's operator, identified by PDEA 7 Regional Director Joel Plaza as alias Eugene, 31, a resident of the area. The four other individuals arrested inside the den were:
- Alias Jayson, 38, laborer, from San Miguel, Cordova City
- Arial, 31, laborer
- Juan, 36, e-bike driver
- Alias Edgardo, 28, driver
The last three suspects are all residents of Barangay San Roque, Talisay City. Authorities confiscated a total of 14 packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 13 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated market value of P88,400.
Weeks of Investigation and Ongoing Probe
According to Leia Alcantara, PDEA 7 information officer, the agency had spent three weeks building a case against alias Eugene before executing the raid. It was revealed that the suspect was capable of selling around 20 grams of shabu per week to his customers, supplied by a source. In addition to the drugs, law enforcers also recovered various drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money. All seized evidence is now in the custody of the PDEA 7 laboratory for chemical analysis.
