Most Wanted Person Arrested in Basilan Law Enforcement Op

AUTHORITIES arrested one of the most wanted individuals in a law enforcement operation in Basilan province, an official confirmed on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Suspect Identified

Police Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Solon, Lamitan City police chief, identified the arrested suspect as alias Amansa, 30, a resident of Parangbasak village in Lamitan City.

Solon said Amansa was arrested during a law enforcement operation implementing a warrant of arrest around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, in Parangbasak village, Lamitan City, Basilan province.

Warrant and Ranking

According to Solon, Amansa has a standing warrant of arrest for murder with no recommended bail, issued by a court in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province. He is listed as the number two most wanted person in the province.

Weapons and Additional Charges

Recovered from the suspect was an M16A1 Armalite rifle with ammunition. Solon said an additional case will be filed against Amansa for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Joint Operation

Amansa was arrested by Lamitan City policemen, with support from personnel of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Provincial Mobile Force Battalion, and PNP-Special Action Force.
