The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has reported a significant victory in its war against illegal drugs, with a series of coordinated operations leading to numerous arrests and the confiscation of a massive quantity of narcotics.
Major Haul and Arrests
From November 3 to 9, 2025, a total of 16 drug personalities were apprehended across Iloilo City. The operations resulted in the seizure of 1,421.4226 grams of substances believed to be shabu, with an estimated street value of over P9.6 million.
The fourteen separate citywide operations successfully targeted both major distributors and street-level dealers. Among those arrested were four high-value individuals (HVIs) and 12 street-value individuals (SVIs).
Coordinated Police Efforts
The success was a result of a unified effort involving multiple police units under the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6).
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) made the largest single seizure, confiscating 850 grams of suspected shabu worth P5,780,000 and arresting one suspect.
Other significant contributions came from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), which seized 349.3978 grams valued at P2,375,905.04, and the Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), which accounted for 100 grams worth P680,000.
Several local police stations also played crucial roles, with Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 8, ICPS 2, and ICPS 3 all reporting successful drug busts and arrests during the weeklong campaign.
Leadership Commits to Sustained Campaign
Police Colonel Kim Legada, the city director of the ICPO, publicly commended the personnel involved for their dedication and efficiency. He emphasized that these results underscore the police force's unwavering commitment to eradicating the illegal drug trade in Iloilo City.
"These results show our steadfast commitment to cleanse our community from illegal drugs," Legada stated. "We urge the public to continue working with us as we intensify our anti-drug operations, especially during the holiday season. We have no let-up — padayon kita nga mag-isa kontra sa makahalalit nga droga."
The series of operations reflects the proactive stance of the ICPO, aligning with the directives of Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, who continues to push for sustained coordination to dismantle drug networks in Western Visayas.
