PRO 7 Apprehends 1,458 Wanted Individuals in First Quarter 2026 Operations

In a significant law enforcement achievement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 has successfully captured a total of 1,458 wanted persons during the first three months of 2026. This accomplishment stems from intensive manhunt operations conducted across the entire Central Visayas region from January through March, demonstrating a robust crackdown on criminal elements.

Breakdown of Apprehensions: Most Wanted and Other Wanted Persons

Among those arrested, 286 have been identified as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), with 33 of these individuals classified at the regional level. These MWPs are individuals facing serious criminal charges and are considered significant threats to public safety. The remaining 1,172 individuals are categorized as Other Wanted Persons (OWP), who are wanted for minor offenses but still require prompt legal processing to ensure justice is served.

Leadership Attributes Success to Coordination and Public Support

Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, the chief of PRO 7, emphasized that this success is a direct result of strong coordination and relentless pursuit of criminals throughout the region. He highlighted that the high number of arrests reflects the police force's dedication to delivering justice for crime victims. Maranan further urged the public to continue their support by reporting any information related to wanted persons or suspicious activities in their communities.
