In a significant crackdown on illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula has confiscated approximately P3.8 million worth of substance believed to be shabu since April 1, 2026. Extensive Operations Lead to Multiple Arrests

Police Brigadier General Edwin Quilates, the director of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula, announced on Friday, April 17, 2026, that a total of 63 anti-illegal drug operations have been conducted across the Zamboanga Peninsula since the beginning of the month. These operations resulted in the arrest of 70 individuals involved in drug-related activities, marking a substantial step forward in dismantling criminal networks.

Quilates detailed that the operatives seized 560.694 grams of suspected shabu during this period, with an estimated street value of P3.8 million. This confiscation underscores the focused and intensive approach taken by law enforcement to target and disrupt illegal drug trade in the area.
