Massive Assistance Program Reaches Thousands of PWDs in Pampanga

Vice Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda has personally overseen the distribution of crucial financial and medical assistance to 6,526 persons with disabilities (PWDs) from various towns across Pampanga province. The significant event took place throughout last week at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, marking one of the largest assistance distributions for the vulnerable sector this year.

Collaborative Effort for Social Protection

The weeklong initiative was spearheaded by a partnership between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga. According to Pineda, this comprehensive support program represents the provincial government's ongoing commitment to providing social protection for Kapampangans in need.

The assistance program includes multiple forms of support:

  • Financial aid for immediate needs
  • Medical assistance for health requirements
  • Livelihood support for sustainable income

Expanding Support to Multiple Vulnerable Sectors

Pineda emphasized that persons with disabilities represent just one of several sectoral groups receiving assistance through the Capitol's programs. The provincial government has expanded its support to include other vulnerable groups who face various challenges.

Other beneficiaries under the comprehensive program include:

  • Bantay Bayan volunteers serving their communities
  • Cancer patients undergoing treatment
  • Members of the National Council of Women
  • Dialysis patients requiring regular medical care

The Vice Governor stressed that the provincial government remains dedicated to ensuring that all Kapampangans, particularly those in vulnerable situations, receive the necessary support and social protection. This initiative demonstrates the local government's proactive approach to addressing the needs of its constituents through direct assistance programs.
