Major Drug Bust in Bacolod City
In a significant operation against illegal drugs, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) successfully confiscated a substantial quantity of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1.020 million. The drug bust, which led to the arrest of two young suspects, occurred in the early hours of Friday, November 28, 2025.
Operation Details and Arrests
The operation was conducted by operatives of the City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) at approximately 4:29 a.m. in Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3, Bacolod City. The police apprehended two individuals identified only by their aliases: "Edron," 19, and "Ethan," 18. Both are residents of the same barangay.
According to official BCPO records, the arrest was made after one of the suspects sold a sachet of the suspected illegal substance to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur-buyer. Following the transaction, law enforcement officers moved in and apprehended the duo.
Recovered Evidence and Charges
Authorities recovered several pieces of crucial evidence from the suspects. This included multiple plastic sachets containing the substance believed to be shabu. The total weight of the confiscated drugs was 150 grams. The marked money used in the buy-bust operation was also successfully retrieved by the police.
The two arrested individuals are currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2. They are set to face serious charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Specifically, they will be charged with violating Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and Section 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of the said law.
