Panabo City Gears Up for Grand 25th Founding Anniversary Celebration This March
Panabo City's 25th Anniversary Festivities Kick Off in March

Panabo City is poised to host a spectacular month-long celebration in March, marking its 25th founding anniversary with a vibrant array of events designed to engage residents and attract visitors. The festivities, known as Araw ng Panabo 2026, will showcase a diverse lineup of activities, including sports competitions, health programs, cultural performances, and acknowledgments of outstanding community members.

A Silver Jubilee to Remember

Michael Angelo Resueño, the Panabo City information officer, announced on February 13, 2026, during PEP Talk that the city is set to commemorate its Silver Jubilee, ushering in a new era of exciting events. "We are proud to promote our 25th Araw, marking our Silver Jubilee and ushering in a time of new and exciting events," he stated enthusiastically.

The celebration will feature:

  • Sports tournaments and health awareness campaigns to promote wellness.
  • Cultural dances and performances by various local groups, highlighting the city's rich heritage.
  • Community service projects aimed at fostering unity and civic engagement.
  • A special recognition ceremony for outstanding Panaboans who have made significant contributions to the community.

Integrating Key Observances

In addition to the anniversary events, Panabo City will align its celebrations with Women's Month, honoring the achievements and roles of women in the community. Concurrently, Fire Prevention Month will be observed with a community-led combat challenge to enhance fire safety awareness and preparedness among residents.

The festivities will also include highly anticipated pageants, such as Queen of Panabo 2026, Binibining Panabo 2026, and Ginoong Panabo 2026. These competitions will spotlight the beauty, talent, and charisma of Panabo's youth, adding a glamorous touch to the celebrations.

Historical Significance and Growth

Panabo City's journey to becoming a component city is a key part of its identity. It was officially converted through Republic Act No. 9015, which was approved and ratified by residents in a plebiscite on March 31, 2001. This milestone elevated Panabo from a municipality to a city, granting it greater autonomy and administrative powers.

This transition has facilitated:

  1. Expanded infrastructure development, improving public facilities and services.
  2. Enhanced economic opportunities, boosting local businesses and employment.
  3. Strengthened public programs, solidifying Panabo's role as a vital urban center in Davao del Norte.

With a packed calendar of engaging events, the 25th Araw ng Panabo promises to be a memorable celebration of community, culture, and progress. Residents are encouraged to participate actively and showcase their pride in Panabo City's achievements and future aspirations.
